Little Toy Airplanes

If you are in the Chicago area be sure to check out the production of The Little Prince by the Lookingglass Theatre Company in Chicago, Illinois!  I so would if I could!  I was blessed with the experience to work with their amazing costume design team on a fabric design I created called Little Toy Airplanes on White.  Click on Lookingglass Theatre to get more information about this fabulous show!  The Little Prince has been extended to March 16th.  On their site you can see 32 photographs taken of the production along with fabulous sketches of the characters created by the very talented Sally Dolembo.  This was an experience I will never forget!  Thank you to the Lookingglass Theatre Company for this incredible opportunity!

Here is the children's book I wrote titled It's A Full Moon Tonight.
This book also inspired my toy airplane fabric designs.

Both fabric designs are currently for sale at my shop at Spoonflower!

You can also purchase
Little Toy Airplanes on White at my shop at Society6!

Thank you so much for checking out Art Tree Designs Blog!

  1. That's awesome, Tara! You'll have to tell me the story of how this came about sometime. Too too cool. :)

  2. Thank you so much Danzel! The costume design team at the Lookingglass Theatre found my Little Toy Airplanes design at my shop at Spoonflower. They emailed me changes that they wanted to have done to the design, and after a few emails back and forth Little Toy Airplanes on White was created. It was a challenge to pop the moon out on the white. It was nice to be connected to theatre again. They were so great to work with on this project. Doing work like this with theatre companies all over the world would be one of my dream jobs. Thanks for asking, Danzel!

    1. That's just really cool. Did they know they were contacting a theatre major when they found your design? ;) Congrats!

  3. Thanks! They didn't know, but I told them right away. I told them how much I miss hanging out in the costume shop. Those are some of my best memories at WSU. That and playing your sister in Dancing at Lughnasa. :)
